...an excerpt from an interview with singer/guitarist Gregg Sarfaty of Stewboss...

How did you start with music? Where did it all begin?

"I wanted to play guitar. I think it was in summer camp or something. There was this kid, Jeff, who had stolen his brother's jukebox, and there was this tape in it. He put on the tape and it was Jimi Hendrix. I think I heard the beginning of Purple Haze... and it was the most amazing thing I'd heard in my life. When you're ten you're still listening to all your parent's music. So all I knew was Donna Summer, Earth Wind and Fire, that sort of thing. The Beatles' "Rubber Soul" was as rock-n-roll as it got in my house. So just hearing the sound of that guitar, I broke out in a cold sweat almost. It was unbelievable. I was like, "What is that noise?"

"I started asking a lot of questions about music and I was so interested in that whole world of electric guitar,and I wanted to know more about blues stuff."

"I remember coming home from summer camp and asking my father "What does it mean to O.D.?" and he was like "What are you learning in that summer camp?! How much money am I paying for you to come home with these questions?"

"That's where it started. With that fascination. And it kind of grew from there."
