…And indeed it will always be. The band formed in (pick a year in the 1980’s), and named itself The Unband because

The trio’s sound can be described as a rock unsteady, sacro siliac–busting rush of the kind of music that you hope will never die.
With the release of Retarder, it’s majorish label debut, The Unband will become known to more trashed and untrashed households than ever before. “(quote here about how kickass everything’s been lately)!” , says (Unband member’s name). Recently, The Unband has toured the States with Motorhead, Nashville Pussy, (shitty metal band #123), and Dio, (and currently with the mighty Def Leppard) and wrecked Europe traveling on a giant hot purple tour bus with Fu Manchu. Of the experience, (Unband member’s name) says, “(quote here about living on the road, angry customs agents, and not really remembering anything that happened )!!!!”

The guys have definitely honed their filthy, larcenous, and thoroughly (adjective) chops in the past couple of years, and Retarder, recorded in a Slaughterhouse in Western Massachusetts, is proof that Eug, Matt, and Mike have been rocking, driving, and (inside terminology for disgusting tour anecdote) together since puberty, which wasn’t that long ago.

The Unband play stop, drop rock & roll. One time standing too close to the bass monitors, I got a combination massage and ultrasound from just the sonic blast, dood. And Matt sings from the scorched earth fount where all great vocalists and players (Lemmy, Gene Simmons, DLR) pull their air, and Eug, well, he, I don’t know, read the police report and understand what ‘skins’ means.

It would take just three men to make all that noise. Or as they would say, “three is enough. That’s two to sleep and one to listen.” ( Due to their dedication to nightlife, the guys are fond of napping in the presence of lawyers, journalists, cops, and creditors. But not all of them at once.)

There’s a line in “Rock Hard” off Retarder, I think it goes “abuse that style” and that’s what The Unband truly does: ripping the best VH (Women and Children), AC/DC (you know which parts) and country clubs (sportcoats, shiny stuff), and making it into somethin, well, downright fuckin’ wholesome. The song also goes “you gotta take it too far,” and well, for these fellas, that’s easy. Or, to paraphrase the Crue, “The Unband are the extremely real thing.” Get ready, get ready, get ready, when The Unband drive out your way, there will be (insert here something about bedlam, broken hearts, and ruined savings accounts).
