NMF is Western Massachusetts' homegrown music festival/conference. Now entering its SIXTH year, NMF has established a reputation for integrity, great music and unparalleled fun. Each year the conference has grown; each Fall the conference has brought a diverse lineup of individual musicians and bands to what is called the "Best Small Arts Town In America." In 2003, NMF will do it all again October 3rd through 6th. The Northampton Music Festival is a celebration of the vital music tradition of the Pioneer Valley. It serves as the key event for the community to celebrate the best of local live music. It brings in the best of developing regional and national artists and provides an exciting opportunity for local musicians to showcase their talent and skills to a diverse, enthusiastic audience. Dynamic showcases and concerts each night; thought-provoking, educational panels each day. At NMF, our goal is to benefit both the local live music scene and the community at large by providing opportunities for bands to showcase their talents within the context of a well-publicized music festival. The participating musicians gain exposure to both the industry professionals and general audience in attendance. They also benefit from the media coverage-radio, print and internet - and promotional sampler CDs.
