Hot on the heels of their critically acclaimed sophomore album Diesel Therapy (Tar Hut) comes the Lonesome Brothers' third release, SWAMPTOWN GIRL, on the Captivating Music Label. Jim Armenti, Ray Mason and Bob Grant joined forces in 1986 and (not knowing any better) have remained intact ever since!

They recently appeared on Prairie Home Companion, and Jim's song "Down by the Water" was recorded cy Cry, Cry, Cry and Cheri Knight (Ray is the bass player on Cheri's album (the Knitter). The Lonesomes have opened shows for Junior Brown, Freedy Johnson, Delbert McClinton, Carlene Carter, Steve Forbert, Cry, Cry, Cry and many others.

Produced once again by sonic guru Jim Weeks and featuring stellar pedal and lap steel dobro from Doug Beaumier, SWAMPTOWN GIRL builds on the back porch wisdom and rural warmth that made Diesel Therapy such a resonant example of great roots-pop songwriting. With over 100 years experience playing in dingy, smoke-filled bars, these guys are still full of surprises.
