Driftwood

Driftwood strips away some of rock's most notorious excesses such as flashy solos, inflated egos and overblown production in order to focus on what's most important: the songs.

This is an album full of low-key gems and is absolutely devoid of pretense. Gerry LaFleur's lyrics are melancholy and his delivery is confident, evoking the image of a man scorned but better off for it. The music has enough bite to leave it's mark without quite breaking the skin. All in all a very honest, comfortable record.
