All right, let’s cut to the chase! Driftwood is three guys who know how to friggin rock… plain and simple. There are no sordid tales of greed and deception. There is no Hollywood magic or overnight success. It's just the same old story of three guys who were in some bands heading in a not-so-great direction, quitting those bands and getting together with a common goal… to write and play damn good rock songs.

The trio realized their fate when they stumbled upon each other while shopping for hair grease and whiskey back in early 1995. Based on their previous endeavors and various musical tastes and backgrounds, the guys quickly were able to solidify their punk rock/country assault. Singer/guitarist Gerry Lafleur supplies the basic roadmap for the songs. "Most of the material is written at home on my acoustic guitar. I then bring it to the guys and let’em have at it" says Lafleur. Then the boys, Clint Maslanka on bass and backing vocals, and Jeff Staltare on drums, fire them there songs up like a 5 alarm chili! The result is an unavoidable onslaught of honest rock and roll that makes you feel good about feeling bad.

The guys keep their asses in line with a regular schedule of shows, playing major clubs, bars and venues (also playing less notable clubs, bars and venues along the way) in the northeast region. Ask anyone who has seen these guys live and they’ll tell you… It’s like getting hit by a Mac truck, filled with rock n roll. It’ll pummel your ass like a narc at a biker rally. They’ll get your spurs janglin!

If going out isn’t up your alley, or you’re on house arrest, don’t get your panties all in a bunch. They’ve spent their time and money in the studio too, self-releasing a full length, self titled CD, and their latest EP entitled Out Of Place. Both of which have received national college radio play and regional play on all the local rock radio shows. Find it at your local record store. If they don’t have it, cause a scene… a BIG scene!
