Named after Amy's deceased great Aunt Barbie who died at age 98 at an unfortunate tea party, dragster barbie pays homage to a Victorian suffragette Aunt of the past while playing to modern girls (and guys!) everywhere. Vintage psyco Bettie Page/surfer girls/Josie & the Pussycats meet Beck and the King of 60's surf-rockabilly distortion Link Wray, dragster barbie plays songs drawing on Amy's Southern Californian roots, a wave of neo-'60's garage-pop surfalternative sound. Amy's original lyrics look at the world with her, well, creative point of view, a twisted sense of humor and dry wit.
